Pearls

On one of the mail lists a designer posted looking for 30mm or larger pearls. Ahem…I suggested she try her hand at polymer. She asked if I would…who can ignore such a challenge!
pearlLG I decided to go with the techniques used in my Blown Polymer line. I think I got it. Muted pearls, faint variegations, lovely sheen.  And big.

The added bonus is these also happen

to be hollow!

Oh the design possibilities…

OK I've got to ask! How do you make them hollow? I love the look of the big beads but they get so heavy...

Hi Arlene,
Depends on the size I am making. Some are two part and I make them the same way I make my hollow lentils. Some are over an armature. Either way the thickness is a #2 on my Atlas. Very light in weight/size ratio.

I wore the lariat I listed on Etsy (listing) today and hardly noticed (except fot the compliments!).

Thanks for asking,
Valerie
