Nominations final

Just received this in my mail:

Hello Valerie,
Wow!  We were excited by all of the wonderful entries for our Flex Your Creativity Beading Contest.  Everyone did such a stellar job!  Congratulations, your design is nominated as a possible winner!  Now, it is time for a live, online vote to see who our top winners are!  Winners will be announced on December 1st, 2009.
So send this link out to your friends and family to cast their vote for your design:
http://www.softflexcompany.com/WSWrapper.jsp?mypage=BeadingContestVotes.html

The two (of three) entries I entered and are vying for your vote are near the bottom. Scrolling mandatory!
I saw a couple of absolutely stunning and innovative designs. Worth the time to visit. And it is wonderful the ideas designers have when presented with the challenge of simple wire that wants to behave ITS way.

What are you working on? I read today the newest trend is toward ‘statement necklaces’. The operative design element here is BIG. Finally, what I do best. And to celebrate I am working on a collar design that has been sitting in my studio for 4 or 5 years. The first prototype looks good. Needs some tweaking and after the weekend (and holiday) ready for prime time..I’ll post.

Valerie

Congrats Valerie I hope you are a winner again. You deserve it! That is great to hear about the trend toward statement necklaces. All the necklaces and beads I've been making lately are fairly large and quite dramatic. Nice to know that there will be a market for that type of jewelry!
